Systema practitioners learn how to work standing up but also how to transition to the floor and back again which is an often overlooked but crucial aspect of personal safety. The shock and impact of hitting a hard surface such as a road surface can drastically affect your ability to work against an assailant so you are taught how to be as comfortable as possible impacting such surfaces but also how to remain active in your defence and attacking strategies.

Don’t worry we don’t throw you right in the deep end and onto the hard floor right away if you are not comfortable in doing so. We always have mats available but we do introduce you gradually into how to work without fear diving and rolling onto the hard floor and it will eventually become part of your natural way of working.
